Has anyone used this Blood Pressure medication? And if so how are the side effects ect? I have read in a recent health article that this drug can actually improve libido, even in women when taken for high blood pressure.
Another thing im curious about is after reading how this drug works, could some of you Wizards explain if this drug could have a negative impact when using gear or after reading how this drug works I could see how there might be some positives for the chemically enhanced Athlete.
Hypertension runs in my family and mine has been borderline for the past few years but im doing good keeping it under control with changes in my lifestyle over the past 18 months, that doesn’t mean that one day I may not have too take some sort of blood pressure medication so out of curiosity I have been doing some research into this and would like to see if anyone on the boards has anything to share about exactly what this drug does.

Diovan works by selectively blocking the angiotensin II hormone from binding to the AT1-receptor, located in many different tissues such as vascular smooth muscle. Angiotensin II is formed from angiotensin I by angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). Angiotensin II has effects that include vasoconstriction (the narrowing of blood vessels) and the release of aldosterone, a steroid hormone that promotes the retention of water and sodium in the body. These effects can contribute to an increase in blood pressure. Diovan blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, resulting in the dilation of blood vessels and the consequent lowering of blood pressure.
