After the second thread got bumped I was going "wha?" but still not making a big deal out of it. Then I hit the third one bumped within three minutes and there was no indication Wodie had any intention of stopping there. So at that point it's not "wha?" It's "Oh, come ON! Give it a rest!" Still no big deal, I just fired a warning shot across his bow.
On the FOURTH one he bumped, he added some updated numbers, and you'll notice that one didn't get locked.
I didn't send them to the recycle bin. Nobody got any red.
Hell, I even thought about unlocking them... tomorrow, or the day after, once they were back where YOU AS A GROUP decided they belonged. (Why didn't anyone keep them going the first time around? Hmmmmmm?)

Scenario a) Let's say you do a search on something and find a really informative old thread....lets say about Milk Thistle. You bump it with a comment like "great info, glad I found this." (this is on supps board)
Scenario b) same as above but subject is Mark Kate and Ashley (C&C board)
c) You bump an old classic thread by someone else (like the recent Satanic Goatslayer thread)
d) same as c but it's your own thread (but it was legitimately popular)
e) same as d but it's a stupid thread (like Lestat's "got in a fight at the carwash" thread)
f) it's a thread you started that kind of fizzled out and you bump "for more responses"
In all scenarios the threads are at least one month old.

As long as someone isn't being a purposely annoying dickhead, why can't a thread be bumped? If that is what the members want, then just let it be. Is the board here for GS, yours and the admin's amusement - or is it here to generate revenue?
I don't understand where all this stuff lately is coming from. The "Don't you dare question authority around here" is total BS too. The real authority is in the paying members... not a mod or an admin or even GS. Why can't someone ask why a thread that doesn't violate any known rules or TOS ask why it was deleted, moved or modified without fear of retribution?
This board has a history of rouge mods that love to delete threads and lie about doing it. Or editing posts for their own personal agenda. This new un-written policy of not questioning authority will make it impossible for abuse to come to the attention of the site owner in the future.
It just seems like things are getting a little silly....

and yes occasionally, some threads may be brought back up.......like you said if the person is not being deliberately annoying, but I seriously hate seeing all this old crap up here and will lock if need be
also the TOS argument doesn't hold much water, part of the TOS is that elite staff can lock what they want, when they want, why they want

What I really wish is that the rules change a bit so that when an elite moderator amends a thread, their name will be at the bottom as 'post last edited by:'
It really sucks when some posts that people make get amended without a prior email warning or email in general saying why it was amended
