Dieting with ulcers....

I need lots of help, please. I suffer from ulcers, and must lose weight and fat to release most of the stress on these ulcers. Does anyone know which fat burner(s) I can use? :bawling:

Do not and I repeat do not take anything containing aspirin or salicylic acid. Extremely irritating to an ulcer. I recently found that out the hard way (as I double over my keyboard). I feel for you if this how you feel on any kind of a regular basis.

Comic Sans  Thanks for replying! Only thing is that, I have no idea where to start looking for Fat Busters without those ingredients........would you or anyone know?

You don't need to take anything to lose fat. Just get some exercise and diet a bit. Nothing drastic just clean up your diet and reduce your overall intake of food. Fat burners won't do anything for you if you continue to follow a poor diet and exercise regimen.

Ulcers......

Dieting WITH Ulcers .....Thanks for replying. I have already done that. I've had my diet changed to the "no taste diet".....smaller portions even, and nothing. I've attempted to do the walking thing......and the ulcer's act up. It's completely depressing. Doctor's say that less fat and weight, puts less stress on the ulcers. So, that's where I'm at. Like I mentioned before, I NEED HELP, lol.
I'm looking to lose the fat and weight, without throwing up?!

LOL

I dont see why an Ephedrine tab and a Caffeine tab would upset your ulcer, but I really have no idea. You can try to find a bottle of 25mg Ephedrine HCL and get some 200mg NoDoz and your set. Most folks on this board dont use the aspirin, just the EC.

Are you sure.....lol? That it won't give me a heart attack? LOL I wanna lose fat, not die......lol, it sounds scary. Am I over acting? LOL:die:

Ephedrine isn't half as dangerous as the media makes it out to be, however if you are severly overweight or have heart problems it can be. The point of the matter is taking a fat burner isn't going to magically make you start losing weight, it's only a tool to help your diet along.

Also the "no taste" diet may be fine for ulcers but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good for weight loss. The healthiest, "made for diet" types of food will still make you gain fat if you eat too much of them. Smaller portion size is a start but you really need to get a handle of your calorie intake. If you are truly serious about losing weight then you have to take the time to at least get a ballpark figure of calorie intake and start portioning out your meals.

The average person who doesn't count calories generally eats more than they realize. I think they tend to underestimate how many calories are in things that may "seem" ok. Things like bread, cereal, and other carbs are notoriously high in calories in the average serving size. You don't even want to know how many calories are in a plate of pasta, and that's not even counting the sauce that it's usually accompanied by.

I'm not a doctor but I think a couple days of low intensity weight training combined with a healthy diet will do wonders for you. My guess is that weight training will be less problematic on your ulcers than aerobic exercise. However you may want to check with your doctor. Don't be hesitant to research the internet for others with your problems, they may be able to offer advice or alternatives that you've never considered.

Wow... I imagined something like that. I am 5'51/4", 235lbs, 39.1%bf, and I always knew that cardio/aerobics burns fat but the weight training, wow. I'd like to get back to my normal weight: 135lbs. Looking toned, not muscular. I don't have heart problems........just the ulcers. Now this Ephedrine thing, will help and give me the energy to lug this body around......I'll try it. But where do I go to learn about this calorie counting stuff?

See, I've never had to count before.......when I was at my normal weight, I'd my aerobics and light weights : Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. To maintain. But now with this ulcer thing, I find it so difficult. Thanks again for your help, and please let me know what site I need, to learn the counting thing.

ok, so what exactly does your "no taste" diet consist of?
please post exactly what you eat on a given day.

to track your calories you can go to fitday.com

OK y'all, here I am.......HELP!

Dieting with ulcers......lol

around 9am: Chamomile tea 3 sugars, and a cigarrette.

about 10:30am: Start to feel hungry so another tea 3 sugars

12noon: Turkey & Swiss on white, no mayo, no nothing. Apple Juice. Another cigarrette.

about 2pm: 2 choc. chip cookies or some form of choc. Then a cigarrette.

Tea and apple juice throughout the day.

7 or 8pm: Dinner-Baked or Broiled Chicken or Fish no seasoning. Steamed broccoli, potatoes, carrots, loose corn, what ever of those I feel for on that day, lol.

10 or 11pm: 2 Stella Doro bread sticks and Tea.

Geeeeez, now that I look at this.............I'm a mess!!!

Help!!!!!!!! :bawling:

1 Quit the smokes
2 Kill the breadsticks before bed
3 Add something for breakfast and something midmorning
4 Use artificial sweeteners
5 Kill the Apple juice and eat apples

Just some things that hit me right off the bat...dont know if it will effect your ulcer or not, but I wouldnt think so.

just adding on to what HANSEL said...

your diet is full of carbs and sugar.
you are eating too much fruit.
not enough veggies.
not enough protein and not enough fat.
white bread is a really bad choice.
you should eat a small meal between 2pm and 7pm.
i don't know your portions, so i can't really say anything about your caloric intake, but i am guessing it's not right.

you should substitute your carb choices for healthier carbs like oatmeal, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, fibrous veggies etc.
you should eat more protein like tuna, chicken, fish, eggs.
you might want to substitute the chocolate chip cookies for a chocolate protein shake, since you need your choc fix.
you need healthy fats like flax oil, olive oil, nuts etc.

Whoa!

:cool:Hansel, Millie.........You're both awesome!

Thanks sooooooooo much! I went into www.fitday.com and I put in the stuff I ate for the day, and it just didn't sound right. Well, to begin with............I don't know what the heck I'm doing, lol. Like, what amounts should I be intaking, etc.

But, also, My little brother is a body builder, and he turned me on to you guys. He mentioned that it was excellent advise, for my eating habits. But to also go with: AF NYC, Glucorell R, Biotin, and Yohimburn DF.......to go with my aerobics. Boy, this is alot of work, but it will be well worth it.

Let me know what you think, and thanks again!
