Diet help

New member
Well I have been posting on the anabolic discussion board and they told me I should ask someone here what i should be eating for the most gains I can get. Here are my stats:

Height: 6'5"
Weight: 180 lbs
Desired Weight: 225

So tell me, what should I be eating to help me gain weight, but not foods that will just make me fat.

Please help

I'd say you should be getting about 240g protein, 300g carbs, and about 30g of fat (EFA's). divide those by six for your six meals that you should be getting and you get 40g protein, 50g carbs, and about 5g of fat per meal. Good sources of protein are tuna, eggs, steak, chicken breast, beef, and fish. Good sources of carbs are brown rice, brown pasta, potato's, oatmeal, and whole wheat bread. For fat you should be getting oils like canola, olive, and flax seed.

if you eat 6 meals a day of red meat with either rice, potato, oatmeal, you will gain the weight you want-your protein should be 350-400g a day

the first thing i would do if i were you is to determine the amount of calories you need to maintain your weigth. An easy way is to log everthin you ate for a whole week and if you havent lost or gained weigth that week devide that number by 7 and that will be your maintance cals.

Then pick a ratio you want to bulk on, a popular ratio for bulking is 40% pro 50% carbs 10% fat. Asuming you dont want a lot of fat when bulking but this is really just personal taste (i myself tend to eat a "little" more fat when i bulk :p).

Add about 300 cals or more if your not gaining enough (i would shoot for mayb 2 pounds of lbm per month) to your maintance eat the ratio you choose and see how you feel. Just stick with it.
