Diet Help

So aside from watching my calories I have never actually dieted once in my life, but I want to get cut up for summer so I have decided I will do it. However I have no idea whatsoever on where to start so I'll say what I know about dieting as of right now:

Height: 5'8
BW: 185
BF probably around 10-12%

1. Chicken will be a staple of my food consumption?
2. Do I cut down on pasta, or eat more of it?
3. Can I achieve better results by eating a healthier diet?
4. I suck at cooking, is grilled chicken difficult to make?
5. Can I skip cardio if I diet properly. (the only reason I currently do Cardio is to lose weight, not for endurance)
6. Please write me a quick example of what a avg. day would look like for me in terms of food intake.

answers:

1. yes chicken breast is a great choice for cutting.
2. cut out pasta
3. yes
4. no it is not hard to bake. wash it off in the sink and then put it on 350 degrees and cook for 30 minutes. cut it open after done to make sure it is cooked completely.
5. i suppose you could skip cardio but it depends on how active you are during the day. i would NOT skip cardio if trying to cut up. do it first thing in the morning for 30 minutes.
6. for food eat a small meal every 2 to 2 1/2 hours with a steady flow of amino acids and a small amount of complex carbs. for example i eat 8 oz chicken breast and 1 slice of ezekiel bread every 2 hours. cut out all carbs at least 4 hours before bed minimum.
