Diet Drinks (at the bar)

Anyone on cutting diets able to go to the bar a few nights a week and have a few coctails?

If so, what do choose as your beverage of choice?
 
It's not a good idea, period. I've tried it and all it does is hinder gains even if you mix with diet soda and allow the calories in your daily allotment.

If you feel like you "have" to drink, avoid Southern Comfort, Captain Morgans or anything else that has a honey base or has caramel, etc. in it. The "best" thing you can probably drink is vodka, gin or rum simply because they have about the same amount of calories as a lite beer (since they are a lower proof).

(On that note, the best beer you can drink that doesn't taste like @$$ is probably Miller Lite).

Personally, I think its important to prioritize cutting or bulking and anything that doesn't fit in that priority needs to be omitted from your life; and honestly there is no room for alcohol in any cutting diet.

Just in cutting out alcohol and keeping a solid diet I've dropped 10lb's in the past month. Hell, it was alcohol that put on 35lbs over the past year :eek:.

Its not worth it man. We had a Christmas Party last night and I was the only one not drinking. I managed to have just as much fun drinking diet coke and water as everyone else did. And at least I didn't have a hang over this morning when I woke up :)
 
diet coke w/ a lemon on the glass... no one will say anything.
 
That's a really good idea 'cause you look like a creep hanging out in a bar with a water. Looks like your just there to take advantage of drunk girls.

It's alright if your drinking, though...LOL
 
Also, it might just be me but I find it easier just to stay away from clubs and bars in general. But, we're all getting older (I'm 23) so I'm getting worn out from all of that ;)
 
beer...help!

fiance is getting me a home brew beer kit for xmas. i've wanted one of these for almost 2 years now. i love beer, but just for the taste. i like 'em dark and thick. the beer isn't going to be good for me and i know it. but, well, i'm NOT about to tell her to cancel the order for the kit. i'll just do my brewing and enjoy a good tasty brew every now and then.

still wondering if it's possible to brew a high protein/low alcohol beer that tastes good. i'll have to do some serious R&D on that one and prolly make a fortune from you beer lovers if i can accomplish it lol
 
Well, I know every one frowns on it, but as a long time degenerate I have a hardtime staying away from the sauce for too long.

Trade in your cheat meals for a drink or two, just don't get too hammered or else you won't want to work out the next day.

Vodka and Tonic is great, although watch the sodium on the tonic.

Michelob Ultra is a really low carb beer and it actually tastes good, not just good enough.

dont waste your time making lowcarb / high protein beer... if you wanna get faded, get faded... there's no real healthy way to do it. You have to balance your lifestyle in whatever nature makes you happy...

How about vodka & diet coke? Not the most classy tipple but you'll only need a few and you won't be getting that many cals from them.

Vodka and diet coke is just wrong on the rocks like a man, but seriously got to give up drinking when your cutting. If you really want something to party with maybe a little blow.
 
Take tomatoe juice

and if someone bothers you since you don't drink alcohol just tell him that you're on a heavy steroid cycle and you may soon have a roid rage :D
