I'm a little upset right now. For one, it's cloudy out... I don't like clouds. Second, I'm doing behind the head tricep extensions and this puny little crack addict comes up to me and tells me to keep my elbows in. Now, I've been called blind because of some girls I've brought home from clubs before... but I'm guessing no one on earth could mistake my 17.5 inch arms and his 8 inch arms.

There isn't much I could say except "look at my arms...and look at yours". Now is the time I have to thank whoever it was a month or two ago who posted a line to say to somebody when they accuse you if you are on juice...

He then asked me if I did juice... and I used the line "Would it make you feel better if I did?" Worked like a charm! Still, I'm pissed off... I suppose the 500mg shot I did before I worked out didn't help...

But to whoever that was who used that line... thanks!

"Would it make you feel better if I did?"
Oooo, that is a sweet line :), I will have to remember that.

I hope to get big enough so that someone will ask me that one day.......:(
Then I can use that line........

Should have took my advice and thrown him into the side of his car, it works better.

You really should keep your elbows in though. That's coming from a guy with 22.25's, not ripped 22.25's, but 22.25's none the less.

I think your arugment is irrelevent. Just because your arms are bigger then his doesn't mean you got the right form and he doesnt know what he's talkin about. I've seen some huge guys doing straight bar curls and they seem to work their backs more then their biceps.

Einstein made mistakes too.

22.25? Then I will take your advice... I've heard that little rumor about elbows-in... :) But when a guy with 8" arms is telling me it, I tend to want to keep my elbows OUT as far as possible. :)

You know what I hate? I was in the gym this morning and I saw this fat guy telling these two girls how to properly perform a crunch. I just started laughing at him. So hard that he had the guts to come up to me and ask what I was laughing at. Now I'm 6'2", 250lbs. and this guy was about 5'6", 275lbs. Any how after I realized that he was in my face I stood you and I saw the look in his eye go from pissed to seriously concerned (as in concerned about his health) but I let him off the hook and said I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you. He didn't say a word, he just turned around a left the building.

Well, true... I've not always claimed to use perfect form... but then again, I'm not a personal trainer or a pro-bodybuilder. My elbows are out a bit because of a shoulder injury I have had for years... which, consequently happened as I fell down some stairs...

Bottom line, if you are bigger, you're doing something right. I work my ass off in the gym, if I want my bows out a bit, I'll let em out a bit.

Keep your elbows in, boy! Damn, it's kinda cold how you just tell people trying to give you some help to fuck off!

Yes I think it is pretty cold...

I've corrected my professors at school before during lecture. I'm glad they dont say: WTF do you know. Correct me when you get your Ph.D. Until then shut the fuck up.

HEY BUDDY!!!
That was ME at your gym, and I'll have you know my arms are 9 inches(not 8). Thank you very much!! Don't forget the tips I gave you!!!

Hey, don't get me wrong... I'm not arguing the fact that the bows should be kept in. I know this man! :) It's hard for me to keep them in that's all. Also, I didn't like his "know it all" tone.

When you correct your professor, you are in a learning, interactive enviorment... where they ask you for your opinion or what not. I go to the gym to get bigger, not to have people come and tell me something I already know. There is a difference.

Points by everybody taken... I will try to keep my freeking elbows in... ;)

But as for the original intent of my post... I liked the comeback. :) And thanks to the fellow that told me it on here.

WTF I think plastic surgery and roids should be encouraged I mean the world would be a much happier place no more little people no more fat people no wait a minute that's why I get layed and fat boy dosen't hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha:p

#1 If he's doing seated or standing french presses, then he's right to have his elbows out. If he's doing (lying) skull crushers, then he should have his elbows in.

#2 It is incredibly rude to come up to somebody and talk to them while they are performing an exercise. It is also rude to offer advice where none is solicited and somebody isn't doing something dangerous to themselves or another. A transgression of this nature should be dealt with accordingly. By the guy's second question "are you on roids?" it's obvious that he was a fucking idiot. As such, he was treated accordingly.

I had the same problem with having trouble keeping my elbows in. I now prefer the one-arm overhead dumbbell extensions, it's really helped out my long head, but it also does wonders for the rest of the tri's too. I extensions every now and then, mostly I just do close-grips or weighted dips, but one-arm db ext. are my number 3 fav tri exercise. Don't make too big of a deal about my 22.25's, they were over 18 before I ever touched a weight. I'm just a big ole' country fucker.

it's all in hoe you say it too... if he would have came up (after you finished at least the set you were on, mind you) and said something like, "hey, I was told to keep my elbows in while doing that, is that right?" Then he would have made his point and not pissed you off, and everything would have been cool. I think it's rude to talk to anyone while they are in the middle of a set, regardless of what you are going to say (minus maybe something like, hey there's a guy with a knife behind you or something along those terms).

Good post. Just about what I was thinking...

I really hated guys like you in college. Always trying to make the professor look bad in front of the class.

I agree 110%

Dude, did you read the post correctly? The 8" arm guy asked if our friend here juiced. Thats a stupid question you dont ask that to people even if you know they juice. That little fucker deserved to be treated like that.

some ass at my gym pulled some shit but it wasnt about me,i was talking to dissto earlier this week as he was helping me correct my deadlift form and we talked a bit then he left and the second he was out of site some little bitch comes up to me and told me not to listen to dissto and that he didnt know what he was talking about,i laughed my ass off and said to this guy look at him and look at you dissto is 230 and jsut a monster and this guy is smaller then me trying to say he knows more then dissto,i told him that he must know alot to be that big,i then told this kid to take a hike
that kid had no right to say that and dissto is a great guy who was helping me,i guess the little bitch wanted to seem important

If you are bigger you are doing something right? Not true at all. A person can have genetics on their side but be totally fucked up & get big whereas a person with lesser genetics but doing everything right will be a major competitor.........it's a fact.

Oh.....& when people in a gym ask me if I'm juicing.......I don't jump their ass & look like I lose my temper easily.......that would only prove their point. I politelly use logic......as mentioned before ......& nicely said "would it make you feel better if I did?".....that's the perfect thing to say.
Also I've had all kinds of debates (as a BB trainer), with Physical Therapists in the fitness centers, gyms, & Wellness Centers.....we came to an agreement.......we agree to disagree......nicely. As for a person that just walks up & out of bounds says "you should do it this way"......I nicely just say......."I perfer my method.......but thank you".

for Brian

Brian ...could you please post a picture of yopur arms? Not calling you a liar, but a lot of claims have been made here over the years and very few have ever been backed up (when i said I had a big back....I posted a picture to prove it ...when i said i had a beautiful wife I posted her picture to prove it ....do a search on me) anyway ...I understand you are not cut ....just want a picture ......what are your stats?

i wear my headphones at all times, i keep my hat down and i just train..when people try to talk to me i just train...if they come up to me when im in between sets and try to talk to them I tell them that it better be important enough to warrent me turning off my music..most of the time they walk away.

Storm Shadow's right. A lot of the time size doesn't mean shit. A dude with 20"+ arms may just have good genetics but not know shit about lifting. I'm 6'2" and my arms don't look very big, but I'm stronger than any of the big dudes at my gym except one. Anybody thats been lifting for a long time has seen the little guy that can put the big dude's lifts to shame, with much better form too.

What will make you feel better is grabbing a 10lb plate and repeatedly smasing it into his face until a crater forms and then taking a dump in it. But hey, that's just me

;) that was a great line!!

I remember that one.

It offends me too when someone tries to correct me. I myself am a stickler for correct form whenever I do an exercise. Lee Haney you to say "it not the qanity (weight) but the quality (form)." I don't however, correct anyone at the gym when I see them doing something wrong. I just go about my business. I figure if they want to know, they will ask.

I myself often watch guys and pick up new exercises or correct my form.

I figure if they want to know, they will ask.

Exactly! I've seen people do some crazy shit before. Like doing preacher curls with one extra 10 lb plate on one side, not arching their backs correctly, doing the herky jerky. You know what? I just go about my own business.

this old fat guy in my gym while i was doing bench said to widen my grip cause i was going to pop my balls. now he said this in spanish and my training partner hardly speaks spanish but he asked me what the old man said cause he thought he heard something about my nuts. damn we couldn't stop laughing. then another day i ask the guy to give me a spot on incline dumbell press. now i'm using the 100s wich is my heaviest set so i need to concentrate the fucker starts talking to me while i'm doing my set and says, man if i did that wieght the shit would be rolling down my leg. i almost fucking dropped the dumbells cause i was laughing so hard. never again did i speak to this man.
