dextrose vs. maltodextrose

whats the differience in gi? i ordered 2.5 pounds of each from pro fac just to test em out... is one more potent than other

dextrose is corn sugar
maltodextrin is from natural corn starch (little to no sugar)

Maltodextrin GI = 137
Dextrose = around 142

Both are pretty high GI

and could be mixed in your post workoput shake

Dextrose – A natural corn sweetener that is commercially made from starch. Used in ice cream. Also termed glucose and corn sugar.

maltodextrins are easily digestible carbohydrates made from natural corn starch. The starch is cooked, and then acid and/or enzymes are used to break the starch into smaller polymers

Which would be better in a post workout shake for someone trying too take in alow amount of daily carbs?

both would work fine...If I'd chose one over the other, probably dextrose
