Dextrose or Maltodextrin...which better?

even though they have comparable GI/GR's dextrose is a simple sugar while most maltodextrins are complex in nature. dextrose is aslo much sweeter tasting than maltodextrins.

just get whats cheaper...technically maltodextrin is complex...but it is really a glucose polymer with weak bonds. The key thing is they both affect blood sugar the same.

Bulk Dextrose can be found at most liquor stores that carry wine making supplies at 80 cents to $1 per lb.

Dextrose can also be found at most large health food stores for a $1 an lb

I stick to dextrose... it's cheaper and didn't notice a difference when I went and did maltodextrin, but my pocket book did.
