Just a topic to discuss taking dextrose vs. a low gi carb........why do you subscribe to XX theory....i.e. which do you use?

Depend which type of insulin u use u must consume a low GI carb or a high GI carb.
If u use Humulin R u should use mostly complex carbs and if u use Humalog u should use simple carbs. There are tons of insulin protocols... u have to try them to see which one work the best for u. Some people use insulin postworkout only and some people use throughout the day. Its really a matter of trying.

having an insulin release caused by consumption of high clycemic carbohydrates will
1 help muscle recovery and growth by shuttling nutrients preferentialy into muscles
2 reduce possible soreness
3 reduce catabolism caused by cortisol
4 reduce shbg giving higher free natural tes

yes for post workout meal i would use low to keep the blood sugar up for many hours (great for muscle growth and a great point mak)
but my pw meal is 1 hour after workout
the high gi carbs are for during and right after workout or perhaps i misunderstood his question
combining the low gi with the high directly following workout would reduce the insulin spike and slow its onset there fore reducing its effectiveness severely
waiting 1 hr after workout to consume carbs is a recipie for disaster
