Depression & Anxiety Caused by Carbs???

Hi guys,

I am curious, as lately I have been cutting my carb intake dramatically, but not to the point of an atkins or keto type diet, just avoiding Rice, Sugars, Bread, Etc.

Well, Since I've been doing this for a couple of weeks I've noticed that I have very little anxiety, and my depression seems to disappear. I also can think more clearly and overall I have tons of energy and feel so much better.

Is this all just my imagination? Perhaps just Psychological? Or do the Carbs really have to do with moods and such? BTW, on my 'cheat days' when I eat carbs, I felt horrible, was very moody, and extremely depressed.

anyone else have a similar experience???
 
they can make me tired or lathargic I guess, and that makes me a little irratable but I dont turn into a psychopath serial killer because I forgot to eat my whole wheat bread or anything.
 
I follow Atkins with 1 day per week loading carbs. So i guess you can say it's a CKT type diet. Anyway, i had NO trouble making the switch to eating no carbs. NONE, my body really took to it and in the first few days while snacking on cheese i just thought "fuck carbs". I feel really good.

Mentally i feel more alert, snappy and have a better sence of humor. Yes i noticed i laugh more and get excited about things i used to enjoy when i was younger. So all in all i like the diet and feel greal on it.

Now my GF. She has been on this diet with me since the inception. And i have to say she is someone who suffered from depresion. Her mood swings are virtually gone and she said she feels more like her old self. This diet really made her much sweeter as a person.

This diet is not for everyone but for some people like myself it really tunes our bodies right and helps us thrive. Hell after 3 weeks i really do not even look forward to loading for a day. They sorta discust me.
