Dental higiene question

I have this doubt: if you wash your teeth properly, i mean 3/4 times per day, dental floss, etc... still your sugar intake can damage them? And if so, can someone´s teeth go back to its previous "whiteness" if that someone stops consuming those amounts of sugar? One more question: have any of you guys ever done one of those global cleaning treatments, in the dentist? How did it work?

I don't know about the sugar question.

I've had my teeth whitened and they make a mold of your mouth and teeth. Then you put a gel in the trays and sleep with it for about a week or two. A year later, I'm still getting compliments.

:D

decay is caused when a species of bacteria (they are called staphylococcus mutans or something) eat the suger in your mouth and basically shit out acid the same way we eat food and shit out shit. I can only assume that means that witin a few seconds of eating something with sugar, bacteria are secreting acid onto your teeth.

Streptococcus mutans.......

The acid is a waste product just like carbon dixide and water in eukaryotes ('higher' organisms).
