I'm doing the final setup on my new laptop last night, getting necessary programs installed, virus protection, windows updates, and everything is finally going smooth.
Then I go onto Dell's website to download a few more drivers that I need. I had only downloaded the video driver (necessary unless I wanted a 640x480 image on a 15" screen) and the networking driver. So I find the page with the sound card driver, because I have no sound. The file hits 99% complete and suddenly AVG freaks out - Trojan Horse Virus from the sound card driver :madfawk:
Wonderful, just fucking wonderful. It was instantly contained and removed, and I did another full virus scan and the computer came up clean.
Now I've gotta find another sound car driver. Fucking Dell Dude must've smoked some pot and thought it was funny to put a virus in the sound card driver file. Bastard.
