Give it a listen. I know. I know. He's the devil incarnate and Obama is the same again, but the book provide additional context about how / why he made decisions the way he did.

Hush. I'm too busy reading "The Pet Goat", also known as "My Pet Goat". Once I finish reading that, in about eight years or so, I'll get around to reading and/or listening, to "Decision Points".

Is that the Woodward book? I'll get around to reading it.

I cannot do audio books. I can read 500 times faster. I ever tried them in the car on long trips. They just do work for me.

Ah, Bush's book.

I am not a big fan. He increased discretionary spending more than any other president (I think even more than LBJ). I always wondered by liberals hated him, he was a big social spender. I can see why people got pissed off with the wars though. I supported Iraq (still do) but not 'stan.

IMO history will prove him right with his foreign policy. As for domestic policies he, along with Obama, have destroyed this nation.

I will definitely read this when I have time.

I'm doubtful that anyone "destroyed" the nation because it would depend on how you define destroy. Things change. One counter is in the lead, then another takes it's place. :)

I have no idea what he's gone through, but I can see how people demonize him / others over the years for their interpretation of the events of the day. I find that the book provides an interesting (and more importantly) level headed perspective on what he went through then the pundits on either side.

how can you not support overthrowing the regime that bombed us?
were we just supposed to let the taliban go?
fuk no imo

His interviews during book tours have been great.

I don't agree with his big-government republicanism, but he's definitely conducting himself as a past president full of class. Contrast him to Carter -- that guy is his own caricature.

I have no issue bombing he shit out of them. I do have issues trying to rebuild the country. I can't be done. We will not win there. Never.

Rule #1 when waging wars: do not wage war if you cannot win.

My wife hacked into my account and posted that lol

If you see any posts about having a headache and living with a sex craved maniac that is her.

If the post is all about moaning and screaming about powerful orgasms that is my neighbor's wife using my account.

Yet, the Taliban will be in charge after U.S. troops leave . The Taliban is the proxy arm of Pakistan. The Taliban was a government in name only...they had no more control over the tribal regions than any government in Kabul....including our corrupt, drug dealing, kleptocrat. I supported Bush's limited engagement strategy using special operators and indigenous opposition groups but escalating it and moving to nation building was a mistake. Afghanistan could have been easily isolated because they have no ports and any terrorists would need to move from Pakistan which could have been handled with intelligence assets and missile strikes.
