Theres a debate on another board about this shooting in this link:http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/D/DEADLY_PRANK?SITE=ALOPE&SECTION=US

I have the position that the boy (14) shouldnt have been shot nor did he even put himself in a position to get shot because egging is a minor simple prank and he was running away when the shooter went after him to shoot and kill him. Other think that it is ok that he got shot based on what happened, which I think is crazy. One guy even went so far to say he didnt know if he would shoot a KID if they egged or toiletpapered his place (gotta be fuckin kidding me).
Heres the actual board link:http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=630501
Is there something Im missing or are these motherfuckers crazy?

guns lovers are unreasonable. there is a reason they feel the need to tote a pistol around with them at every turn: Fear.

i carry a gun around with me when i am out in public, and it's not because i'm afraid of anything.

i just use it to crack walnuts.

You know whats even more crazy is I have a concealed carry permit and really like guns, and Im considered the soft one because I thought the kid shouldnt have been gunned down for egging a car LOL.

Another example of what is happening in the world today. What I want to know is all those people that say the killing was deserved, let them stand up and say they never pulled a prank in their lives. Having a gun is my right, killing someone is not. Two months ago some neighbors were outside and three gang banger types were walking down the street, two with exposed guns asking if they had a problem with that...awwww nope...911 all three in prison now.

Gee whiz, shooting someone for egging. What has the world come to?

There are legitimate reasons to carry a pistol, thats why its legal in the majority of states. But that responsibility must be tempered with a levelheadness and sense of restraint as you will have to live with shooting or killing someone the rest of your life, regardless of legality.

While it's perfectly understandable to be pissed about the egging it is totally overboard to shoot them. Call the police file a report and make the little buggars pay for any damage.

Cheers,

i think its funny all the people who say shit like "those kids got what they deserved"
wow. Thats just fucked up. I seriously wonder how many people think like that.

That's gun people for you.

i can see both sides of the issue here.

yeah, killing someone over a simple egging is a bit extreme...but when you are doing dumb shit, bad things can and do happen.

Like a few years ago when that guy opened fire on a group of kids for getting him with their super soakers. I think one or two of them died. Not so good.

I heard there are some crazy people in America.

We got crazy people here, too.

Thankfully they don't have guns.

b0und (sheesh)

Eggs are healthy.... as long as you eat them. Throwing eggs is a different thing. I guess that dumb kid now knows the difference.

even people who didnt own guns were talking shit about this kind though saying they are glad he's dead.

Anandtech forums, a place full of a bunch of computer geeks is full of haters who wish horrible things on people who screw up in life. They were cheering about this dude being dead, and also about the dude being dead who stole ps3s and was shot by police (even though he wasnt a threat or didnt have a gun at the time the police invaded his home)

maybe a good asswhippin would've been deserved, but getting shot for egging, thats a bit harsh.

Throwing eggs does not warrant being shot but naturally warrants some type of consequence. While the notion has been put forth that gun lovers are unreasonable, it is a generalization. There are those who own guns who are unreasonable and those who are not.

I was driving with my girlfriend back from dinner about 2 months and my car got egged. My reaction was slightly different than the shooter from the article. I just said, "that sucks." I didn't have a single feeling of anger. Personally I have other stuff to worry about then some bored 7th graders egging cars.
