deaf and blind people

So I understand how deaf people can communicate, and how blind people can communicate (learn stuff, etc)

BUT

How does a person who is both deaf and blind learn anything? They have no perception of anything other than what they can feel or smell. How do you teach them verbs etc?

What do they DO? How do they entertain themselves?

HOW?

You should watch Helen Keller.

Blind people learn and teach by talking to each other and brail.

Deaf people learn and teach one another by reading, writing and sign language.

Deaf/blind people do sign language but their hands touch the other person's hand. They learn/teach this way and via brail.

I have no idea what they do for entertainment.

It would suck, that's all I know.

The weird question is how do they think. You and I think in words because we know verbal language. I was blown away in high school, when I learned that people of foreign nationalities think in their native language. I just assumed people thought in English.

Also, we can visualize images, because we can see. So what are the thoughts of a deaf/blind person composed of?

I'm an idiot. I actually did search for webpages devoted to deaf/blind people.

I think they still picture things and associate people/places/things to mental images....just might not be the right image.
