We used to be an agrarian society (farmers) and daylight savings made sense, The farmers could hit the fields earlier.

Guess what? We have electricity these days. Lights on tractors too. So why don't they get rid of daylight savings time? Nobody likes it being dark at 4:30 pm.

It is because nobody can figure out a way to make a lot of money out of a common sense change. Nothing is done unless it lines someones pocket.

Semantics....changing the clock back and forth is called daylight savings. Get rid of it and we have daylight for one hour longer during the winter. Arizona did this some time ago.
