Just finished reading BodyOPus......great book!!!!

Just curious.....why did Dan die at such a young age???

Anyone know?

Unlike what many want to think or believe, it was not really gear related.

I cant recall exactly, he either had like a congenital heart problem or had some type of kidney disease or something.

Someone wil log in soon with the exact answer.

BopyOpus is a great book. FYI, supposedly Dan LOVED Tren (Fina). Also when Dan speaks towards the end of the book about some "new incredible fat burning substance, but one that is very dangerous" etc, he is talking about DNP.

Thanks bro...found it:

1952-2000 (48 years old)

"As for what happened to Dan, Dan died in his sleep at his apartment from what appears to be natural causes. He was found Thursday, Jan. 13th by his close friend Shelley Hominuk. As most people know, Dan had always had various health problems throughout his life. He was born with polycystic kidney disease, a genetic defect that often leads to kidney failure. While in prison years ago, Dan suffered a small stroke which he recovered from. Last year, he had gallbladder problems which turned out to be gallstones and a possible ulcer. Most recently, Dan had been suffering with the flu which had plagued him for weeks. His health declined and his bodyweight dropped drastically. Typical of stubborn Dan, he refused to go to the hospital. When he didn't answer his phone, Shelley became concerned and went looking to see if he was all right. Of course the rumor mill will try and place Dan's death on some more mysterious cause, but by all accounts, including both the police and coroner's report, Dan died of natural causes. Dan is, and will always be, my friend. Wherever you are Dan, I know you are making trouble and laughing at all of us. The world will not be the same without The Guru, Dan Duchaine."

Dan was adopted. His mom and sister tracked him down late in life. He said it was a mixed blessing - basically they tracked him down to tell him he had an invisible fatal genetic condition. His kidney disease was a clock that ticked down to his death right on schedule.

He was a brilliant man... very respected by those who knew him.

Duchaine was the man, extremely intelligent. I remember eagerly awaiting the new issue of Dirty Dieting to read way back when:D .

OMG!i love the man and hes style of writing is nice also!Read pretty much all i can find on him...if any of you bros have links on him would be nice if you could post em!Cheers

Body opus is a great book, a little radical in some aspects, but so was Dan. Dan died after refusing to go to the hospital with a deadly bout of the flu, he was one of the nearly 40,000 americians that the flu kills each year. The flu can be some very nasty shit, it nearly did me in a few years ago I ended up on life support for three days.:)
