As far as spices go.....Form my personal experience - I think the cutting of those is mainly due to ensuring that minerals are accounted for...sodim(obviously), potassium etc.

When your Bf started to drop, did you see yourself kind of soft or jiggly in some parts? Or anything not so pretty as you expected? I see parts of me with cellulite on triceps when I flex for example, or if I pinch part of may abdomen or quad...I feel the little fat pouches...I am insane I know...![]()

I can't tell that. The skin starts tightening up though. I have also been using the yohimburn lotion. Are you using that stuff yet?treilin said:Thanks
O.k. sooo you stop adding spices so that your body will take up sodium and potassium from the food you eat? I'm not adding any extra salt already. Is it a competition thing, is that what you mean?
When would you suggest cutting out that stuff? ASAP? OR is 4 weeks out good?
Alrighty, I will do thatThe Shadow said:Im saying that in spice mixes..you arent really sure of the minerals that you might be getting.
I would drop all dairy, added spices, salt, artificial sweetners and fruit(I'll get flack for that one) 4 weeks out

Yeah I noticed that my skin wasn't as swollen and tight like I could move and pinch the skin around my tri's. I pinch myself all the time now. I can tell what is water and fat by feel because my trainer was showing me. He was pinching my calf and told me that it was about ready to drop.. and I was asking him how he knew. He said it's a feel it gets.I can't tell that. The skin starts tightening up though. I have also been using the yohimburn lotion. Are you using that stuff yet?

Yeah I wouldn't count on customs either if I were you!florencia said:I think I know what your trainer feels...When I pinch myself I can feel small gel like tabs in the area I am pinching...DaHHHHHHHHH!
I can just picture them as small pouches full of fat....kind of like morsels...Yeah...ah ha...cchocoalte chip morsels in the process of melting...
I am one imaginary person!
About the Yohimburne and thermodextrin...I ordered them and have arrived to San Antonio Texas..- I live in central Mexico. and did not want to risk loosing the merchandaise at customs...Not a good thing to say about my country, but true...sometimes it happens sometimes it does not.
So I will be going to SAT soon, it may help I will be a bit leaner, and learn patience comes in different ways...this time in a bottle, ja ja ja...
Have to go cook now, BF is having a friend over for lunch.
Will check on you later you hot mama![]()

Miss24k said:S I don't know who would be giving you flack for that, I totally agree with you, that at 4 weeks out all of the above should be cut out.
Just to make things clear, I don't think fruit should be cut from 1s diet unless they're competing and for a short period of time. Ladies fruit isn't bad for you, you just need to know when to have it and which kinds to have.
Splenda and other sweetners like S said are known to increase insulin levels and some girls hold on to water because of it. I know a few that the only thing they changed was removing the splenda and they dropped a few pounds.
Sassy69 said:Here the thing is that you don't know how your body really reacts to anything on your first go-around. I'd cut out ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that isn't specifically on your diet. If you are going to do a show, do a show! You can always cheat later. But right now keep it as simple as possible so you aren't sitting there the nite of the show going "damn I wonder if that splenda is what's making me look watery..."
Yeah I'm phasing those out too.... Do I have to get rid of mustard... Yeah I know stupid question. The Shadow said:hm......water retention...
so:
Artificial sweetners are going away
Spices
What about Things like "liquid" spices?? - Mustard, Ketchup??
ANy diet coke or Crystal light??

Yup I have been on those! The Shadow said:....one thing - if you like cashews/nuts etc.
Switch to natural almonds....only 2 grams of net carbs...ZERO SODIUM....great source of fat

ThanksThe Shadow said:I would drop it a week out...go sugarless - hey - it burns cals right??
treilin said:ThanksThat made my day!!! I do have sugarless gum that's all I chew. I actually used to chew a pack a day.. Now I chew like 2 pieces for an extended period of time... I am a gum addict!

I just thought about this... I take that Amplify O2 from the AF store... has NO2 and creatine in it. Also, I'm still on straight creatine... which I know I won't be coming off of for a bit ( So I think) Do you think I should switch out the Amp for just 5g straight up creatine? Both I know will have me also holding some excess water...
O.k. I will do that as of tomorrow.... I already have my stuff mixed up and here at work with me.The Shadow said:I would drop the straight Cr and keep the AMp to get the NO@ boost.
In fact, drop the regular this week(soon), and see how the retention looks.....then you can make another change(s) if possible
Honest to God I don't knowThe Shadow said:is it a loop or non-loop diuretic??
Using that will change how you carb up...or should anyway
I don't even have it here or else I would look it up. I know it's one that has been used for a long time and is given to people with high blood pressure too?!? treilin said:Honest to God I don't knowI don't even have it here or else I would look it up. What's the difference between a loop and non-loop diuretic?
O.k. well she told me it was a milder one.... but that I may want to eat a banana here and there.... I'll look it up.The Shadow said:One is a lot harsher.....
the other one is a bit milder and does not deplete potassium.
I'm still on protein and glutamine...badgergrl said:What about protein powder? Are you still using that Treil? I know it must go the last week, but should it be cut out before that?
