Does anyone know why Jay isn't competing in the Olympia? I wopuld'v liked to see him take the crown from Coleman this yr.

well most years the top 5 only compete in the olympia....but why compete in the olympia when you can win more at the arnold. makes sense to me.

Guys, it's a business just like anything else. It all comes down to $$$. If you can make more money doing the Arnold, why do the Olympia? Plus, it's obvious that Cutler is the heir apparent to the Olympia crown, anyway. Barring any health issues, he'll be champ for a while.

I'm a mod on another board and one of the guys who competes wrote about Cutler. Here is his post:

I cant disclose any names due to a close friend of mine that Jay works with. My friend competes at the National level and Jay has been helping him for a bit. They spoke in April while Jay guest posed here in Colorado then again a few weeks ago at the USA's in Vegas. Here is the deal....Jay is refusing to do the Olympia on principle. It has nothing to do with finances. Point blank...Last year Jay was robbed by Weider. After the first 2 rounds were complete Jay had already been told that he was so far ahead of Ronnie that there was no way he could catch up unless Jay no-showed for the night show. Calls were already being made to set up photo shoots and endorsments for the "NEW" Mr. "O". Then Weider flew into Vegas that afternoon and was told about what had transpired that morning. Weider then reversed the decisions thus ensuring Jay could not win. Muscle and Fitness talked about this and said that it was impossible. "That couldnt have happened". Keep in mind that the magazine is owned by Weider. Jay has been asked to appear at the show and so far he refuses to. He has had an offer on the table for months that he would be paid $50,000 (above and beyond his regular prize money) to just show up and compete. Thus helping them to sell tickets. He "says" he wont do it because no matter how much better he looks ultimatly Weider controls the outcome. So it definetly isnt about the money. I have only spoken to Jay a few times but never about this directly. The few times I have spoken to him he knows who I am because of the guy who trains me (who he works with) so he does open up a bit but nothing on this level. So for what it is worth....there you have it. Again, he didnt tell me directly but he did talk to my trainer who has no reason or motivation to lie about it. Does that mean he will never do the Olympia again? I am sure he will in time be there again.

akes me never want to support weider or anything he endorses!!! I wish arrnie would take over and the Arnold could become a more prestigious event.
