How long can you cry for?

So I get home from the gym last night and the couple upstairs were fighting/breaking up (great comic relief for me) and she is bawling and screaming and bawling. When I got home from going out with my friends I swear I heard her still crying, and that was like 4-5 hours later. So just wondering how long this can last.
