Credit - how is yours?

I checked my credit score this week as I am preparing to buy another car. There were a few surprises on there...and I am in the (painful) process of cleaning things up right now.

Sometimes, your score doesn't reflect the reality of your situation at all. You might be surprised, and your current income has nothing to do with it (although lenders do consider this).

One also has to question the legitimacy of the reporting process, given the interest that major lenders have in keeping scores down. (Charge higher interest rates).

How many of you know your score?

I have no clue. My wife handles all the home credit stuff. I just spend cash and handle the market funds.

I was told it went to 10, these fools said I had an 8.5 and that they rarely see that, maybe like twice a year, once a year someone will come in with a 9.

I believe my Beacon Score was 890 when I went to buy my truck last December.

Good payment history, Good Payoff history but not a lot of Credit accounts. I only have 1 Visa, 1 M/C 2 Gas cards and a Bank Check card.

They said it would have been closer to the high end of 1,000 if I had borrowed more money.

Most use the Beacon score which goes up from like 600

I don't know what my exact score is, but I imagine it must be high since I've never had to pay a penny of interest on a credit card and my total available credit exceeds my annual income.

I have no clue about anything actually. My wife keeps my penis in a mason jar in her nightstand. I just get to look at it occasionally.
