Credit card rewards...

Again, I turn to the people of EF for life-guidance.

I travel a lot for work, and typically have used a company credit card for my expenses. One of my more clever coworkers suggested to me that I get a card with some type of reward (cash back, etc.) and use that instead.

Great idea...now, does anyone have any suggestions as to what card has the greatest rewards?

I have an Amex Blue Cash myself. I receive up to 5% cash back.

Here are is some cards to look into for great cashback rewards:

Amex Blue Cash

Chase- Cashbuilder

Chase-Perfect Card

MBNA World points(Great all around card)

For traveling, just pick any of the Sky milles cards from a top issuer.

CHase,Citibank,Amex, Bank of America,MBNA are all top banks, but you must have very good credit.

I used to use Discover Private Issue. It had 2% casshback, now it has 1%. The Amex is my choice now. I`m averaging about $400-$450 cashback a year. They also have certain merchants they work with if you purchase with your "cashback money" You can double it. I bought something from Sharper Image and payed half for it because of the doubling of rewards.

One of my concerns with using Amex is that I need a card that's pretty universal. What's you guys' experience as far as acceptability?

You`re right about that. I say 80 -90% merchants take it. I don`t travel, you would know better than me about that. Good point.

Can you have one of each. Amex and Discover?

Yeah, but the same problem is there with Discover.

I may to like an Amex Blue and a Visa or MC as a backup.

Amex Blue Cash and MBNA Wordpoints(Its a visa or mastercard for sure) for back up.

Be advised, MBNA is a hard to get and need very good credit and a sufficient credit history.

With those 2 cards you will be set, and you will really enjoy the rewards.
