credibilty of our information

I have thought long and hard on this subject. I have come to this board for the past 2 years for all my info. I use the advice of the mods and vets to guide me through my anabolic endeavours. I am not bashing on the credibility of the mods, vet, or any other members of this board, rather the credibility of who is providing them with the information. It seems as though our opinions on AAS and what they do and how to use them properly is changing every few months. Old beleifs are thrown out, and new ones are taken.

For instance HCG as ena example. It was once beleived that HCG should be used post cycle to recover our HPT and give the testes a kickstart. Now i is common practice to never use HCG post cycle as it will inhibit LH production. How do we know this? Why did we go from one end of the spectrum to another? Where are we getting this info?

We need to analyze where we are getting our information. Many experts, docs, studies, etc... Are very biased. Books give wrong information as do experts. I don't know what to beleive anymore. What are we doing? The classic pros incorporated cycles using much less than alot of members here... Arnold's favorite stack was primo-dbol... They didnt have all of the advancements we do now. Yet there were huge, and never stopped getting huge. Now people do 2000mg test and incorporate 5 other compounds into their stack. Where did this originate???

There is so much misinformation on this board. Ranging from "winny is not as toxic if you inject", "10iu's of humalog is deadly", "receptors downregulate", "gains from anadrol are 90% water." If that were true if i gained 30lbs off of anadrol, i would only have gained 3lbs of muscle? I feel sorry for all of the newbies getting misinformed. People are starting off with 1g of test, and 400mg deca. I mean whats going on here? Where are we headed?

Who came up with the idea that receptors downregulate? Why do so many people beleive they can "clear their receptors"? Where is all this bunk coming from??? I have problems beleiving 90% of the information posted on this board anymore. As stated before we discover that our previous views are wrong every few months. We come up with new ideas... That winstrol helps counteract progestagen related sides. I am not saying this is wrong, but why do we beleive this? Because we read it in an article??? I read that if i use muscletech products i will gain 30lbs of LBM in 12 weeks...

We need to start analyzing the info we are getting, and we need to come up with the hard facts.

Once again I am not disproving the mods or the vets opinions and facts, but i am questioning where their info came from. I trust many people here for information... I would just like to see the hard facts on our practices.

I just want people to understand that just because so and so say something is the way it is... Doesnt mean it really is... I am going to do some of my own research over the next few weeks... So i will let you guys know how it goes, and i will provide the sources as well

I agree, you should take everything with a grain of salt...however, most, if not all the things you brought up have been proven in the real world. People who were prone to progesterone sides taking winny and have no problems. Not taking hcg, but taking only clomid, and sometimes clomid with arimidex/liquidex for post cycle recovery works.

And nothing succeeds like success. That's why this board is so successful. An idea is proposed, it is acted upon, and results are shown. The reason things are changing so rapidly is because more and more people are learning about places like this everyday. That and we don't have to wait for peer reviewed journals to come out, we can just come up with a theory and try it out.

I think it's great. Where else can you actually confer with people who really injected lutalyse? Not many places, I can guarantee you that.

I totally agree TX... But that brings us back to the point of credibility. I could propose a theory, try it out myself, and come back and skew the results... Thats why the only people i listen to here are mods and vets because they will be totally honest

Well what I meant about proposing a theory was that several people try it. I mean, what if 2thick came on here and said, 'Test does not work.' Ok, he's a mod, but he is only one person. Same with Ranger. If all you heard was him saying deca will give you gyno at 300mg/week, you would think everybody gets it.

That's what is so special about a place like this. You can read a persons posts, and get a general sense of their credibility. And when you have 20 guys saying 'Fina rocks', well, you just might have to go try it yourself.

And we can also talk about stuff like this and propose things that most of us cannot, or won't in our off-line world. It just isn't legally the smart thing to do. But here, we can talk openly about gear. You can't even do that at the gym.

I am glad you posted this. More people need to realize that just because someone took the time to type it up, does not make it the truth.

Great post. I think it is up to the individual to educate themselves enough to realize when someone is trying to blow smoke up their ass. It is hard for newbies to realize that not everyone who sounds like they know what they are talking bout really does. Though I haven't been on this board for very long I have been doing research into AAS and other supplements legal and not for about seven years now. I read everything I can get a hold of and cross reference it with any other information I find. I also do not post on subjects I don't have a firm grasp on or am not interested in personally. I also like to go back and read peoples posts to get an idea of what kind of information they have given in the past. This gives me a great idea of how knowledgeable someone is or if they are just repeating someone elses theories. Also it is important that everyone introduces personal bias towards any subject they post on. This is where much of the conflict on this board comes from. One person may have had a bad experience with one AAS and another person saw great gains from the same cycle. These two will then state their personal beliefs under the shroud of fact. That is why it is up to each person to do their own concise research and know the risks, benifits, and particulars of anything they are going to do to their own body.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Exactly, its not so much that you can get advice, cause like assholes, everyone has it. However, here you can get not only advice but from many people and you can use your own intellect to follow the beaten path or break off on your own. The choice is still yours, but you can at least get a lot of input on a given topic.

great post........as with life you have to look at things objectivly and in your own interest........when i am making anabolic decisions I make sure I get all the information i can from the left to the right

Gentlemen, Science is constantly evolving. Just when you think you have gotten it figured out, new evidence surfaces to prove you wrong. This is good, its how we progress and improve our way of living.

Like most people, I doubt that anyone's sole source of information is this board. I read books, multiple boards, etc ... I've made it my business to be a learning sponge long before ingesting anything. I'd agree that there is a lot of contradictory information out there but that's a part of the game.

You're right that winny gets filtered out regardless but it is certainly more effective when injected because 1/2 isn't filtered before it even hits your tissues. Receptors don't down-regulate, of course, but they do become saturated at some point. Larger doses are anti-catabolic up to a certain point but I still haven't seen a satisfactory explanation for why that is so.

Let's face it, most people just regurgitate answers without truly knowing for themselves if it's true or not. Personally I only answer questions that I have first hand experience with. It does seem as though there is a lot of "copy and paste" going on.
