First off when trying to lose bodyfat it is a bad idea to do light weight/high reps.

I used to always make this mistake. When you start lifing light weights and high reps most people do it because they think that it makes you "cut". It is impossible to spot reduce. The only way you will become more cut is by lowering you bodyfat which is achieved by diet, heavy lifting and cardio. By using lighter wieghts with high reps you are signaling your body that it doesn't need as much muscle to lift those heavy weights and you will loose muscle mass. Now if you want to increase the intensity of your workout by adding drop sets or supersets, thats great you will get a double whammy by increasing you heart rate while you lift. As far as the creatine goes, if you are one of those people that feels that you hold water on it and you are trying to get lean and not bulk up then loose it.

^^ Nice post. Exactly right, if intensity is compromised, you may actually burn LESS fat by doing this light weight / high repetitions.

I say your clean diet & cardio, combined with the initial "newbie gains" from starting a training program, have all contributed to your success so far. Not the light weight/high rep idea itself.

Your progress is great ... :D Up the weight, lower the reps and focus on your form & intensity ...

As far a creatine goes, I would suggest using Purecee from the AF store, which should NOT cause bloating and stomach discomfort. If you for any reason you are not satisfied, then return it.

Ok, to be honest I have never lifted light before and eat clean so its all new2 but the rusults are coming.

In saying that I have never lifted BIG and eat clean I have allways lifted BIG and had a high cal intake and I do belive that there is truth in what you guys are saying.

When or If I think Im loseing to much size I will change things up and start to life BIG but maintain a clean diet !

Back in the old days, there was some "conventional wisdom" going around somehow that when cutting, drop your weights and increase reps. Dropping your weight will allow your body to shed muscle rather quickly, analyzing it does not need it anymore.

See, the body is programmed from early times for survival, not to look good at the beach.

Muscle is a load on the body that has to be maintained, and not its priority. So, you are setting yourself up for muscle loss immediately.

Now the increased reps is strictly for more energy expenditure, thus adding to your caloric deficit. A good way to incorporate this strategy is with drop sets, supersets, etc. This way you still get in your heavy set, and maintain muscle mass. This method can also cut down on your cardio needs if you are a person who despises cardio.
