Creatine and water retention.??

Hi,
from everything i have read it tells me that creatine gives you mass by having your muscles hold as much water as possible. Also many sites have clamed that creatine has been proven to give a 6-12% power increase. Say i want power increase and dont want the water weight simply because it would slow me down in hockey, what should i do. is creatine not the right thing?

also is a loading cycle really neccisary. some of the sights i have looked at claim better results if you load with 10 grams the first 4 days then go to 5 grams a day.?

The water retention is not so drastic that it will affect you in hockey.

Loading is bullshit, just a marketing gimmick. You should just take the standard 5GM ed.....

Hope this helps.

It will help moderately, but what does it matter? It's hockey, not track.

You're stressing the water too much, you don't really notice the bloat because it's in the muscles.....you're really worrying too much about this I think.

It's only creatine, not AAS.

hahahaha ok, thanks Div. one last thing, would using it for 2 months be too long? this is just sorta my proposed time.

You can use it as long as you want without sides.

You can cycle it if you want, but I don't see any advantage.

If you're going to use it, you might as well use it 24-7.

you could stay on creatine permanently. There are no known sideeffects and it is not beneficial to cycle creatine

That's bullshit....I've noticed that after running creatine for a lengthy time that my heart beats harder and my stamina decreases with cardio type activities such as running, jogging, basketball and so forth...Many other guys I've spoken to claims the same thing!

You don't bloat from creatine like you do from say drol, or dbol. It is that the muscles store water which is benficial to strength, also and very important, probably the most important is that it increases dramatically the availability of ATP which is necessary for muscle contraction. That is the big benefit. I get really thirsty on creatine, drink a lot of water. I agree with other boys, loading is BS, I do 10 on workout days and 5 on off days. I do take time off every 2 months or so.

I don't know bro, I've ran creatine for an entire year and haven't had any problems with stamina, etc.

not all creatines are the same

the old version is gritty, is not effeciently absorbed, and usually cause unwanted water retention, and stmach discomfort

there are more effeceint ways

AF will have something soon a simple product but brutally effective

I've been taking creatine almost every day since '94. I have had times where I went no longer than a month without it.

I have tried all types and brands, liquid, and powder. I now buy the cheap GNC tub and I haven't noticed any differance in powder, but I know some peeps take the liquid and that has not worked very well for me.

I don't know about it being decreasing stamina, but I took it while in the 82nd Airborne, and my unit ran an average of 22miles a week, and 10 of it every Monday(1st SGT's run), and it never affected me that way.

I was never a creatine fan, but back when I used to swim in high school, I decided to try the liquid creatine from GNC. People actually noticed I was bigger, although I was not looking for any time drops in the pool.

There are no known side effects but that is because no extended studies have been done to show long term sides. Maybe later on there will be some but now right now that I know of.

I have spoken with doctors (and I know they don't know everything) and they find that it is safe to use. Forever, I don't know.
