No, I've never done that but I want to learn to surf

No, there is a shark looking for me, he would surely eat my legs if I surf. Honestly the water is too polluted. I love watching surf videos but I am not that into doing it myself. I am going to try kiteboarding. I used to wakeboard in FL. I grew up around skydiving since my dad has been doing it since before I was born. Anyway snowboarding if cool. A few hours drive to Big Bear from here.

hehe. True. I spent some time at Bell's Beach down under and it looked like a shark playground. Water breathing death tubes or sharks as you refer to them are pretty much everywhere surfing is.
