So about five minutes ago, as I am mixing my myoplex shake, a lady walks by my desk, and says “What are you drinking there? It looks like mud.” I replied, oh it’s just my protein shake. Literally thirty second later, another guy comes to my desk and says “what is that MOTHER’S MILK?” I replied “no it’s not muscle milk.”

These fuckers are driving me nuts. But no one in the office is worse than the guy who sits next to me. This dipshit used to ask me the most annoying questions. And then when I would politely answer his questions he would come back with:

I just run, and do pushups. I think that all you really need.
I only do cardio at the gym.
I don’t like protein shakes and bars (but the next day he would go and buy shakes and bard and bring them to work.)

He is the most annoying fucker I ever met. No one can stand him. I know one day I'm going to get edgy and just rip him a new one.

Anyway, I am used to working in the corporate world, where the most athletic thing that most of the employees do is balance their checkbook. I’m not that big of a guy, and I have to wear a shirt and tie to work, so you really can’t tell how big or cut I am. I don’t talk about working, or rub in anyone’s face. And if someone has a legitimate question on how to lose weight or train, I am more than happy to answer it. I was fat until I was 21, so I know how much it sucks to be judged by how you look, so I’m not a dick about helping others.

I’m sure I’m not alone in this workplace frustration.

I uploaded a pic of the guy next to me (It's his head, on a very appropriate shirt)

I feel for ya. I also work in the corporate world where you can't escape these types of people. Over the past 4 months I have been asked everything from you been working out more to the idiot that asked me in front of my boss if I was on the sauce. That fucker almost got thrown off the roof for that little comment.

I too will answer the questions and be polite about it. I am all for anyone getting in shape. I don't like it when people come into work with the McDonalds bag and then proceed to tell me how they could be ripped in 8 weeks if they really wanted to hit the gym.

You will always find peopl like this with stupid comments...There just made because there lazy asses cant get off the couch and go workout 45 min a day...Fuck em

I'm not corporate world at all, but I get people like that all the time. Asking me questions about dieting and things and when I explain it to them they act confused and lose interest. Whatever.

I feel ya Bro go thru the same shit everyday.. Whats that's ??? wow that smells... How many pills do you take??? hmm I think that is a little to much.... I just want to reverse body slam these fuckos sometimes... :chomp:

I get all that shit at work too. Questions like nothing else, stupid questions most of them.
Shit like:

How big do you wanna get?
Why do you eat so much?
That stuff must be rough.
Hey, Mr Protein dont you ever just wanna get pissed and eat shit?
Your big, but my uncles, brothers, sisters nan is bigger than you!
I used to look like you but i gave up. Yeah alright!

Fuck em I say... I dont often come across many people who look like me but everyone seems to have a relative my size and leaner!!!

Man anyone that calls you out like that in front of your boss should be severly chastised right then and there. I would start with;

"That is a serious accusation and you had better ease up on that talk unless you have some proof to back that up? I am not, do not and never have used steroids and never will, and I resent the fact that you feel the need to insult me and in a sense call me a liar right in front of my boss. I must insist that you retract that statement right here and now in front of our supervisor or I will be forced to file a formal complaint against you and/or seek legal action. Steroids are illegal and I could lose my job if I used them. For you to start a rumor like that is just as bad and puts my livelyhood and my reputation in jepordy. There is not one ounce of truth to it. So, what do you have to say?"

The look on everyones face will be the same.....jaws on the floor and you will be treated as nice as you have ever been treated at work. I know because that happened to me and that was what I said. :D Companies are so scared of getting sued these days, things like defimation of character can cost them hundreds of thousand of dollars and they won't dare explore it any further UNLESS you give them a reason. If you aren't a tool about your use and keep it to yourself, it should never be a problem. Make sure you don't get mad but be firm and serious when you say it. otherwise they will call it roid rage.

the questions can get annoying, but take it as a compliment bro. They ask you a lot of "working out" questions because they think you look like you are in good shape.

your gonna run into this no matter where ya go, just gotta try and put up with it cuz if you do rip him a new asshole as you put it right away they are all (they being your coworkers) gonna say well he must be using steroids and that is roid rage.......good luck

I've got this fat guy in the firm who drinks myoplex shakes all day long. I asked the poor guy why he drinks so many "meal replacements" and he told me with a straight face that he's getting his body ready for "Olympic Style Weightlifting".

lol!!! poor guy.

That's when you say, "So did you go to rehab yet for your crack addiction?" :qt:

it's fear and self-loathing. reaction formation.

very normal human responses.

This is not normal, this is abnormal behavior. Just because the majority of a subset of people do this doesn't make it normal. Self-loathing is brought about by the realizations of the effects of one's own actions, or lack thereof. The normal healthy response would be to correct the problem so that one did not loath one's self. The common response is to ignore one's own personal responsibility for one's condition and denigrate the person that exemplifies the unattained personal ideal.

When some woman in the office asks you about your shake or bars or working out. Just tell her you do it so you can stay hard all night long. It will change the whole dynamic in the office.

that is what they tell themselves to make them feel better about eating that crap food they are addicted to.

I believe people make comments about your protein consumption b/c your consistency and self dicipline makes them feel threatened in their comfort zone of mediocracy.

It all comes down to that one principle I believe. If it didn't, there would be no reason for one to care about what others do in their life. The only reason they care is the underlying emotional reasons.

I've drawn some heat at the office before b/c I would ignore comments or say something like "cool, do what you want, I don't care" when people would comment on my lunches that I brought to work. People look at rice, beans, veggies, non-fried foods and think you are on some fad diet. I didn't want to bother going on a rant with those people like I'm doing now b/c I knew it would be a waste. Avoiding the rant was a bad move as well, proving that I was damned if I did, damned if I didn't.

Hi,

I work in the corporate environment too. I was told by Human Resources once "There are rumours you are doing performance enhancing drugs". You have to just kind of laugh it off or say "It's the Training, Prayers, Vitamins" or if you really want to make then feel inferior "You don't have the genetics" - that one always went down well (Not!)

Also to the original poster - this annoying person is really jealous of you and is trying to get you into trouble, I would laugh to yourself about his pathetic life and feel superior and not let yourself loose your dough over a loser like that mate.

:lmao: at that pic.

People at work are used to it now but I still get annoying questions now and then. Like when filling up my gallon jug of water. Wow that is a lot of water sure it is not bad for you drinking that much. Or oh your eating again inevitably that question comes from someone that is 20+ pounds over weight.

It looks like mud(protein shake)..........No it's not mud. But what looks like mud is the crotch panel in your panties when you take them off at night :licker:

If this thread isn't a great motivation to become self employed I don't know what is? I haven't gotten a paycheck signed by anyone but myself in 12 yrs.

It's good to hear that I'm not alone in this. I needed to get that out. I just filled the little fridge that we share with tuna, chicken breast, and salad. It will take approximately 5 minutes for him to open the fridge look inside and give me a critique of what I'm eating. He does it everyday, and the best part is, he has no food in the fridge.

Excellent

It cracks me up to see my coworkers eating what they eat for lunch on a daily basis. Most of them spend $10 a day just on lunch going out to eat. One of the popular favorites is a chinese restaraunt that basically serves saturated fat in 3 flavors (pork, chicken, beef).
