I think you could possibly see or think for about 5 or 6 seconds. once your brain runs out of oxygen thats it. have you ever fainted yourself, it takes a couple of seconds.

that would be wierd to have your head lobbed off by a ninja sword then when you head lands on the groud your looking up at your body and the ninja assasin. That is unless the ninja first kicked your face before chopping you neckbone, thus making your glasses fall off, or clouding your contacts over. But you could still probably see outlines right?

So I guess what im getting at is would make out with wayne gretsky for 10 bucks, a hot dog, and a full tank of gas?

As the oxygen gets used up you'd go hypoxic......

I think the French government had some tests done on inmates that were sent to the Guillotine. And yes they could see and react (eye movement) for about 4-5 seconds.

I have actually seen this documented somewhere before. It was back when they executed people with beheadings. One guy was set to executed and he told his friend, whom was in the crowd of spectators, to watch his head and see how many times he could blink after his head came off.

I don't remember the exact number but it was in the twenties! That's scary.

I learned in school that when decapitated,often heads were put on stakes and raised above the crowds.The crowds were allways suprised of how long the face could keep changing expresions,and have eye movement.So in short,getting your mellon lopped off would suck.
