If you are anything but a couch potatoe cortisone is the last thing you should consider. It has been clinically proven to hamper healing and weaken the injection site. Sure, it makes the pain go away, but lack of pain does NOT mean you are fine. ie I could load you up with novicaine and cut a finger off and you wouldnt feel a thing, does that mean your fine?

It comes in handy every now and then, I keep some decadron around for emergencies. they key is, if you use it, don't go working out with the injured body part just because it feels better a few hours after the cortisone. Stay off of it several days or longer to heal. I use it, but only rarely......It is especially handy if one gets really sick, but has to study for a test.
