cortisone shot

Made in the USA

I got one the other day. Don't know what to really expect. One doc told me that I would have to take six weeks off of everything, I couldn't lift and even worse couldn't do anything in my sport. But another doc told me all I have to do is take it easy for a week. Throw lightly -unlike the other doc who told me not to throw at all and gradually get back to normal. I understand the effects of the shot how it breaksdown tissue then build it back up over time. I am worried that I can't lift too much. bench is a little scary right now. I am afraid of doing anything near my max. I don't want to f'ck up now and never be able to lift hard again. Plus I cut my winny cycle short-way early not even two weeks into it, so I am affraid of getting small. I know many out there are going to tell me that inflamation helps heal injuries, but when I can't throw a ball hard and straight more than 90 feet, I need something to get me back throwing again. Basically for those out there who have experienced something simular what kind of lifting should I do.

I tell my patients one week. The problem is, that the cortisone is only putting a band-aid on the problem. Sure you feel better all of a sudden, but then once the shot wears off, you have done twice as much damage because you thought you were better and pushed yourself to far. Cortisone shots only mask the pain temporarily. If you are dedicated enough to know when to lay off, then you can start back with some light training after a week. I will let my patients do more of a rehab workout. With proper form and higher reps they do just fine. Good luck.
