corticosteroids and effect on gains

I was prescribed this asthma medication called Aerobid, chemical is flunisolide, it is an inhaler. It is a steroid, a corticosteroid, which a book I have says can compromise the immune system.
A few questions I have that some of you may know are 1) Do corticosteroids negatively effect muscle growth and/or anabolic steroid intake? 2) Can it be dangerous to mix the 2 types of steroids? 3) Any other experiences or knowledge on this would be helpful! I don't want ot ask the doctor as he won't know probably anyway. They want me to take 2 puffs of this stuff every morning and evening. Thanks for any help

Corticosteroids are supposed to have a negative effect on muscle growth,
however, with the theraputic amounts they put in inhalers and ohter anti-
inflammatory medications, I seriously doubt it will hinder your gains.......
especially to a noticeable degree.

I am not familiar with that one, however, if the drug goes systemic, then yes, I believe it can affect muscle tissue. However, I too think that it is such a small dose that it PROBABLY shouldn't matter. Keep in mind though that prednisone is relatively low in dosage, and it reaks havoc on muscle tissue.

Thanks for info! Yeah I only plan on staying on it for a month or so, I really don't like shooting things in to my lungs. But if getting my breathing better means a few extra reps on the heavy exercises then it is worth it not to mention my well being.
