considering going into orthopaedics...need advice

i need general info on the field like what exactly the job consists of how competitive the schools are, what positions are availabe in orthopaedics. do all dr.'s in orthopaedics perform suggery.

Good field to get into...most perform surgery.
1st question should be, can you get a high enough score on the MCAT? Also, what's your undergrad degree in?

i am currently in my second year of school and to this point have taken very basic classes. i am planning on a physiology major but i am not sure if i will make it through, it has alsways been my interest but i have my doubts if i can make it. is the mcat as demanding as the stories i hear?

YES, it is....but you you don't get penalized for trying
The two most common majors for any professional going into the healthcare field are biology and chemistry. I went for biology, taking P-Chem scared the beegeezuz out of me.

I work for an Orthopedic Surgeon as well as 4 other Chiropractic Doc's. I will tell you right now, it's not just the Surgery shit and the doctor shit you have to worry about...IT'S THE FUCKING INSURANCE/MEDICAL REPORTS bullshit that is a bitch.

I wouldn't get into any medical field bro, become a columbian drug dealer instead.

Yup, that's the direction I was recommending as well....

One last thing, if you want to get into medicine to be wealthy, don't.....there are much easier ways to do it. The only doc's who really become rich from their actual jobs is neuro and cardiovascular surgens and maybe cosmetic surgens if you're really good.

i'm definantly not going into it for the money, icould do that a lot easier, it's just always een an interest of mine but i am very unsure if i can make it through the school and mcat. i have always been naturally inteligent and able to get good grades without trying but i have had a very hard time taking school serious enough latley, i am very unmotivated.

I've got 10 years of school under my belt and every year was harder than the last. Now's the time to get into good habits, not when you're struggling. Best of luck.
