computer help

Last week I had to type a report for school but it looks like my dumb ass forgot to save it ...is there a way I can recover it in mircosoft word? The file was opend from my email account

If the computer didn't lose power while you were typing I'd say no. Sorry. I've been there when I was in school. After it happened once I saved every paper before I typed one word and then set MS Word to auto-save every ten minutes.

So you typed a report, then closed out of everything and even when it prompted you to save it before closing, you said no?

No didn't think I did...I thought I was not that stupid but I can't find it anywhere on my computer...not even in the list you get in word itself where the last opened files are shown

I already typed the biggest part again...but the first one was better damnit :)

When you open files from email you need to save them locally before you edit them or those changes don't get saved, even if it asks you to save them. (in my experience at least)

Yeah I don't think Word will prompt you to save if you are going straight through an email attachment, because technically it is your web browser/email client that you are closing as opposed to word, so it doesn't come up. That sucks. I think you may be screwed.

It happened to my roommate last and man, were they pissed.
