When I try to open my Word Perfect 9 program it says the program has performed an illegal operation. When I click details it give me this message.

WPWIN9 caused a general protection fault

What kind of file is it? Can you create a new document in either program?

The dll that had a problem may be associated with your printer. Do you have an HP? Try uninstalling it and see if the problem persists..

If the same thing happens in both WP and word, the problem may be with the document.. Try creating a new document. and see what happens..

Dawookie is right.
Looks like you have problems with printer driver. Uninstall the printer, check if problem persists - and then install it again...
