I took a bunch of stuff out of startup last night because so many programs were running on startup.

Appartently I disabled the scrolling button in the middle of my mouse so now I can't easily scroll with it. I've been trying to figure out how to fix it for almost an hour.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get it back? I must have disabled the program that it uses.

If you can't give any specific help please send me somewhere to get the problem solved. THAnks!:)

hit the start button
Run

type in MSConfig
Go to Startup tab
Put a check in the appropriate box relating to your mouse
I don't know what mouse you are using but you should be able to find it by the program name.
Will hafta restart.

I've done stuff like that accidently too. I just re-install whatever it is that isn't working, so try re-installing your mouse software

Thanks FBD

It didn't work. I used Xcleaner to remove the startup items. I think I made a big boo-boo. My problem is bigger than I thought.:(

IF you have the installation disc for your mouse you can reinstall the software and it might do it. If not you could remove mouse from hardware settings, then ask Windows to locate new hardware. What kinda mouse is it? I got a $50 optical mouse with back & forward scroll buttons on the side, it kicks but I screwed it once myself in the same way

Go to the control panel in the start menu and click on the mouse icon. Should be an option there no? If that doesn't work you probably messed up one of the system files that works with your mouse. Also rebooting fixing a lot more things then you think.

Is the problem fixed?? reinstalling the mouse should have solved all your problems. let us now, if not we can give you other things to try.
