Hey bros, i have a hewlett packard 6740c that is currently running windows 98. Quite often i will have Morpheus open and Elite fitness as well and my friggin system freezes up. My mouse will move the cursor all over the screen but i can't select anything. ctl+alt+del will sometimes work but quite often i have turn the power off on my tower. Is my tower to warm?? Is it my operating system?? Any advice guys and gals would be more than appreciated!!!

Switch to a real Operating System like linux, and throw all youre windows CDs away...

Im one to talk im useing win2000 server, it needs like the least 128MB just to run, freackin memory hog...

check to see if you have findfast.exe running on your system. Go to www.fuckmicrosoft.com for details on how to eliminate it and it's files from your system. Speeds things up a bit and might take care of your freeze.

specs are as follows, intel celeron 667mhz, 64mb SDRAM and a 15 gig hard drive.

Your best bet is to format your c: drive and reinstall the programs you want. When you buy a comp from HP, Dell etc. they load a bunch of garbage onto your hardrive. When I did my sisters comp I managed to get rid of almost 2 gigs of crap and now its running better than ever.

I should also mention that you run scandisk and disk defragmenter about once a week or so depending on how much stuff you are downloading from the net. That will keep your comp running smoother and with less problems.
