Coffee..?

someone posted a while ago, how coffee helps stimulate fat loss etc.. and there was no long term effects etc..

Is this true? It's a drug.. addictive and there's no proven fact of long term effects? nothing? I'm having a debate with my brother, and I think it's all in the media, that makes it sound worse then it is.

What's the scoop about coffee? Bad/good for you in the long run? any effects on your system?? Everyone has their own view point on this.. I need some real info here :)

Thanks.

Good post DOOfy, and Anthrax. I knew coffee was good 4 ya all along! Actually I kept drinking it even when it was out of vogue among fitness circles... I love my coffee!!! I do "cycle" it though; I take a couple weeks off now and again.

Well Coffee.......

The main ingridient in coffee is caffene right? YEP, well fat burners main ingridient for burning fat is caffene and asprin so you work out the math :)

According to Atkins, caffeine raises the insulin mechanism. It raises blood sugar at first and then allows it to crash. For some people, this could cause fatigue, irritability, cravings and increased appetite, for others it does not.

caffiene is not a drug. Some people say that it can be addicting, but I don't believe it. They put caffiene in many diet pills, and is used for burning fat. Caffeine also supresses your appetite, which could be good for some people.
Personally I love coffee, but I gave it up when I started working out because I opted to drink healthier things.
Too much of ANYTHING can be bad for you.
As long as you drink in moderation you should be fine. :)

Caffeine is a substance that can be addicting. Just not addicting as CRACK. But it depends if your a person that has addictive behaviors. And if you are then your could be a person that could rely on caffeine more than your normal Joe. But no coffee isn't bad though.

If I remember correctly, Dr DiPasquale recommended caffeine
intake in conjunction with his anabolic diet. Worked very well
for me when I was on it a couple of years ago. I'm still a faithful
coffee drinker...only Dunkin Donuts however.

what do you think of dunkin donuts french vanilla coffee with some skim milk when leaning ,is this okay? is their sugars in the flavor for the coffee? i cant seem to find the nutritional content on the coffee and i love it so much

They use a liquor type of flavoring when you get it in the store,
so I would venture to say it is very insignificant nutritionally. I
don't think that alone would make a sticking point on a diet,
unless you drank 3-4 larges/day.

When looking at the diets out there, I think we have to look at the person who is behind the diet. Has anyone seen Dr Atkins lately? Man, dude is scary. Let me see Dr Atkins, so I can go on your diet and look like you when I am sixty five? Uh, no thanks, where's the all you can eat, over the top, fried- refried-and dried, carb loaded, all for $2.99 buffet?
OK, this has little to do with this post but admit it, these fad diets are all recycled ideas. Caffiene will help boost metabolism and give you a boost before workouts. I agree that coffee should be, like all things, used in moderation and when appropriate.
