Coffee burns FAT???

I was reading a article on how the caffine in coffee works like a thermagenic. Is this true?
Does coffee burn fat and if it does when and how much do you drink a day?

caffeine increases the metabolism hence helps in fat loss

caffeine pills are more effective than coffee

Caffeine is proven to be very effective at improving both endurance and force output. Lots of endurance athletes and bodybuilders use it. It aids in fat metabolism and increases epinephrine output (adrenalin). It hinders glycogen synthesis, so it can have a negative effect on recovery. In my experience, long term use can make one rep powerlifts get a bit weaker until use has been discontinued for at least a few weeks. I think this is because of adrenalin and muscle mobilization. I... love caffeine, though :)

Are you sure ?
I just felt that I get used to high doses of caffeine but no weaker reps

that would be bad news :(

No, I'm not really sure if it is because of adrenalin or what. I just feel like caffeine reduces my body's natural "fight or flight" response to really intense sets. I like to use it periodically to maximize my intensity for a very low rep set or two. I make sure my glycogen is maxed out when I do this. I like to shock my muscles like that sometimes. I like to not use caffeine sometimes to make my nervous system more naturally "spontaneous"... I'm full of bullshit theories :)

I have read that there are chemicals in coffee that compliment the action of the caffeine and you get some benefits that you don't get from pills.

That said, ECA stack, the basis of almost all the fat burners on the market (Xenadrine, Stacker 2, etc.) uses caffeine.

Caffeine (and thus coffee) burns fat by itself but it works best with ephedrine and aspirin.

smokers and heavy coffee drinkers are leaner than the average american guy

Caffeine stimulates your fat cells to release more free fatty acids(FFA's) into the blood stream. At rest aprox. 50% of your calories come from carbs and the other 50% from fat(lets leave protein out of it). So no, caffeine does not tip this 50/50 ratio, but there is more fat available in the blood for energy. What you do with it is your choice. Do some cardio, and you might use it. Watch t.v. your just watching t.v. while wired. Caffeine is good as a slight appetite suppresant, which along with it's stimulant action can encourage a person to eat less total calories in a day and lose fat. Hope this helps

I dont use sugar in my coffee- just cold ice coffee with a little milk(1/4-1/2 a cup). Yum! Follow with a bong hit and you have the poor man's speedball. hehe. I only drink coffee in the evening, rarely in the morning.
