Using hair products like gel can be harmful for one's hair, so what I heard....

Anyone used/heard of coconout oil for your hair?

I'm tellin' ya. Paul Mitchell Conditioner.

I am not too enthused by the notion of putting oil in my hair.

coconut oil works awesome. I have some.

it makes your hair greasy.. but it will work like a styling gel.. or products like Brylcreem.. or Groom-N-Cleen

that what I was told but I am somehow reluctant to use oil in my hair..

Wouldn't have a strange smell?

IF you're into natural products for your hair..You may want to try some Aloe Vera for a cond. rinse in your hair.

By the way, the only thing that will suds in salt water is dish soap...Feel me? You a true sailor? :)

I did some research in regard to coconout oil and this is what I found:

It is wonderful to use as a hair conditioner. Beauticians who are familiar with coconut swear by it. It softens the hair and conditions the scalp. Using the coconut oil as a pre-wash conditioner can rid a person of dandruff better than a medicated shampoo.

Coconut oil, a natural ingredient in the highest sense of the word, has always been recognized for its quality of strengthening the structure of damaged, devitalized hair.

Coconut oil lubricates and softens the hair shaft through the action of minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron

Go to any pharmacy or cosmetics counter and ask for a "hot oil" hair treatment.
It's great for damaged, dry, frizzy or overprocessed hair.
Can't remember who makes it (VO-5 ?), but it's not coconut so it doesn't have the smell, and doesn't make your hair greasy looking.
You warm it up, rub it in, leave for 20 min, wash out.
I've seen it in large grocery stores hair products aisle as well.

I use this shit called Blue Magic

it comes in coconut oil.. and a type of pomade. it works good.
