Clonazepam

Doc gave me a script to use when needed but kinda scared to use these for some reason. May cause seizures??? Anyone know anything about this stuff?

clonazepam is a benzodiazepine. its mechanism of action is that it produces a sedative effect in the central nervous system. what is this drug being given for, from what i remember it has a few off label uses, as well as varried indicated uses? do not drink alcohol while taking this drug because it can cause increased drowsiness/tiredness

I've taken all range of sedatives (all prescribed), and for me mostly everything seems to just slow down, and your calm or sort of 'spaced out'. I understand you being apprehensive, but if your really worried, you can just cut the pill in half so you have an idea of what to expect.

Just to add, one of the medications I have to take daily can lead to much worse problems than seizures, and the only one I've experienced is drowsiness (been taking it for 2 years now). Any problems, you just call the doc. Seriously, respect the medication, but dont worry about it.

I've been taking it for years. Never had any issues. It greatly calms you down and will help you sleep if your uptight which is the main reason I take it from time to time. Its rather subtle and you may not even know you've taken anything. I take it in dosages of 1mg. A few times I've even used it 30 minutes before a job interview and the interviews went smooth with me being completely calm with no nervousness.

it's very hard to overdose with benzodiazepines, people are were known to take half a bottle and wake up a day later with no sides. The only thing to really worry about it the addictive nature of benzos, they can be very addictive as your body becomes accustome to the dosage. coming off large dosage benzos that were taken for an extended period of time is what can cause a seizure

Clonazepam, Klonopin, Rivotril, are all the same drug. They are Benzodiazepines, which are used as a sedative and sometimes as a anti-convulsant, mostly for sedative purposes. Clonazepam is similiar to Valium, which is in the same drug class, its also a benzo. Benzodiazepines are very safe unless taken with alcohol. Alcohol potentiates benzodiazepines actions something like 10 fold or more. I've seen people injest huge amounts of Valium, and Klonopin and have no ill after effect, just sleep it off for a day while in the hospital, after they have a gastric lavage to remove the drug from their stomach. Then on the other hand I've seen people OD on these drugs and drink a bottle of Vodka and quit breathing.

So all in all Clonazepam is a very safe drug. Their is some research that indicates that Klonopin is harder to come off of than Valium once you become addicted, but unless you become addicted you shouldn't have this problem. I personally like Klonopin over Valium, I can wake up easier on Klonopin and don't feel as tired as I would if I took Valium. If you still don't want to take them send them to me!!!
