Cleaning your ears make you cough?

Am I alone in this? Everytime i use a Q-tip I end up coughing up a boot.

its because the q-tip being inserted into your ear and moving around mechanically stimulates nerves in your throat which trigger your cough reflex

I used to be able to lightly touch the outside of my right shoulder, and my inner ear on the same side would tickle....odd.
