CLA for body fat reduction

Thoughts? Anybody use this or tried it? I've seen articles that state there's clinical proof that it helps and other articles that say it's just basically "meh" but doesn't hurt to take it. Of course, I understand it to not be a magic pill but supposedly if taken with a proper diet, it aids in the reduction of body fat, particularly abdominal fat.

Discuss?

meh...
weirdly me and a couple of other people I know got serious stomach upset from it while the rest of the world seems fine with it
...I didn't notice any comp change or any other benefit so I don't bother with it

It helps. But it is more of a polish.
What you need to take in every day is 3000mgs of fish oil and 2500mgs of plant (like CLA). Your body can't process the plant without the fish.
Watch what happens when you hit those number. Your lipids will be the best they have ever been. You will recover quicker. You will build more muscle and lose more fat.

Ok. Thanks Shirlene. I haven't had any stomach issues with it. The directions say to take it with a meal, so I've been taking it after I have at least something in my stomach.

Slat, thanks for the tip. I already take 1,000mg of flax seed oil per day for the omega 3's. I wonder if I should change to fish oil. My lipid profile is already really good. I'm still trying to tweak my supps and my doctor is still working to balance by HRT regimen (my thyroid basically stopped functioning at age 33 and threw all my hormones off too), but I have to express my satisfaction that I'm finally seeing results from diet and exercise for the first time in two years! I'm down 6 lbs in the past 5 weeks. Since there's no studies saying the CLA is dangerous or anything, I'm going to keep taking it for another month or so and decide if it's worth continuing.

Thanks ya'll!
