CIA spent 30 billion....

in the 90's going high tech. They removed agents from the field and invested heavily in computers, dot com companies, and the internet.

The Al Queda hit an American target, and killed dozens, every year from 1998 to 2001. We intercepted two messages on 9/10 about 9/11 being the big day. They didn't get interpreted until after the accident.

CIA investing in dot com companies. This just keeps getting better and better.

Got this from the History Channel this morning.

I watched that program too. That former agent they were talking to was hardcore, even though he didnt look it. In another History Channel program he was talking about how he was the CIA operative in Iraq that attempted to set up a coup to overthrow Saddam, but Clinton pulled the plug on him.

Suppose it would take one to know one?

I didn;t see the program so i don't know what conclusion you were trying to draw...I don't like teh CIA but if we have to have it, then it should be well equipped...

They should be more than well equipped. My problem is with removing the agents from the Middle East so they could be computer jockeys.

Investing in dot coms? That sounds pretty shady to me but I suppose they can do what they want. Who looks into the CIA?

Plus they seemed to ignore the fact that the Al Queda was killing Americans EVERY year and was behind the original WTC bombing.
Shit...I told one of their men that the WTC would get hit within two years and that was 10 months before it happened. The writing was all OVER the wall. Anybody could see it coming.

Intercepting messages and not being to interpret the language? What kind of spy work is that?

Oh well....much of the blame is on Clinton. As usual.

I agree that Clinton is largely to blame. Others will probably say "You blame everything on Clinton", but his foreign policy track record was may be the worst of any president we have had in our history.

-Somalia. Clinton's ultimate decision to not reinforce our Rangers.

-3 Al Qaeda attacks aganst America with no action to speak of as prevention. The September 11th attacks were not conceived of and planned on September 8th.

-North Korea's recent shenanigans (this results from a 1994 Clinton-driven agreement)

-The middle east "peace" process. Clinton's #1 foreign guest at teh white House was yasser Arafta. It is unlikely anyone considers him as a legitimate effort-maker for peace.

Ignorant Clinton defenders will cite the strong economy of the late 1990's as justifying this horrid foreign policy effort. Informed people understand that this stronger economy was driven fully by teh de-privatization of the Internet and the resulting investment in the technology. This created thousands of high paying IT jobs that don't exist now. High end investors (corporate and individuals) are keeping their money away now.

In other words, the 90's economy was all bubble, little substance.

NOPE. YOU HAVE NVR READ A POST OF MINE THAT SAYS I THINK OR BELIEVE A CERTAIN WAY, THEN GO ON TO READ EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY IN THAT SAME POST.

I WASNT THE ONE GOING AFTER HIM. HOWEVER, I'LL NVR TURN DOWN A CHALLENGE.

Who was the US to get involved in Somali affairs? They deserved to be treated as foreign invaders. What would Americans do if a foreign country invaded the US?

-3 Al Qaeda attacks aganst America with no action to speak of as prevention. The September 11th attacks were not conceived of and planned on September 8th.

The attacks were in direct retaliation for US involvement in the oppression of citizens of other countries. The US should have learned its lesson in Beirut.
-The middle east "peace" process. Clinton's #1 foreign guest at teh white House was yasser Arafta. It is unlikely anyone considers him as a legitimate effort-maker for peace.

It was Clinton that began the whole ordeal. Because he kept a UN-backed offer for peace off the table. He tried to force an unfair deal on Arafat (knowing that he would not accept it), so the violence erupted again.

In other words, the 90's economy was all bubble, little substance.

Agreed but it is a fact that once the government is Republican, the economy is in the tanker. As it is now.

Why the hell is that? I spend a lot of time wondering.

This economy is so bad that it is hard to be happy if self employed in a field that is not required.

Fucking weak man. I thought you were a hardcore Libertarian anyway or something.

I wont admit to agreeing with every single Republican idea wholeheartedly, but I agree with much, much more that the Republican party has to say than the Democrats.

You have officially smoked yourself stupid.

Republicans will NEVER make weed legal. Democrats will.

Nazi Germany

Bro,

I am a Libertarian but to me Bush, Ridge, Ashcroft and their ilk are EXTREMELY bad news for our country.

I feel you'd have to be blind, or just ignoring the truth not to see what is happening here... this is reminiscent of 1930's Germany.

" A police state exists when federal and state police mechanisms:

Serve the central government instead of serving the citizens

Enforce the policies of the central government instead of responding primarily to criminal misdeeds

Spy on and intimidate citizens

All these conditions now exist in the United States!

In a free society, police agencies respond to evidence of planned and actual criminal activity.

Police officers in a free society keep the peace; they do not investigate citizens and activities unless there is some reason to investigate.

In a free society, police do not investigate citizens' attitudes toward the central government, only their action.

Citizen dissent is lawful in a free society and police agencies do not investigate citizens' attitudes toward the criminal justice apparatus.

Those conditions no longer exist in the United States!

You guys realize that Ashcroft has declared that (this is almost verbatim) "The War on Terror will now be combined with The War On Drugs"

This key policy shift basically means that despite all promises, after only a YEAR, these policies will now be targetted towards the American people...including steroid users...Do not take this lightly in any form bro.

Despite my disagreement with the fiscal and social policies of democrats, they IMO represent FAR LESS a threat to our civil liberties than the current administration.

If you care about your civil liberties bro, put aside your biases and get these guys OUT...if that is even possible considering the last election....

Answer me this bro...when was the last time you saw this country in such resembalance of a police state?
