When my grandmom died the medics left her there. I'm not too sure when she was taken to the funeral home, I think it may be the funeral home's job. I wasn't there when they took her away.

Sorry to hear about that.

Shit! That's fucked up.

Shouldn't they take him to the hospital or morgue or something? Especially on Christmas.

Terrible to hear that.

Emergency equipment do not take dead people to the hospital, cause hospitals do not want dead people brought to them.

If they die enroute and the medics call it in the field, they can complete transport to the hospital, but if they are d.o.a. on the scene, then the police handle it and call for the M.E. if they feel it needs to be investigated, if not then they will contact the funeral home for the family, and they will come and get the body.

The reason that ambulances do not transport dead people is because it is no longer an emergency once you are dead.
I know that it sucks to leave the body there, but how would you feel if the nearest ambo couldn't respond to a member of your family who was having a heart attack because they were taking a body to the morgue?

Thats kinda funny...Where do they leave the body? In a bed or in the living room and let the kids play around it and stuff? I wouldnt know where to leave it...Maybe put it in a closet or something.
