Have you heard of the chips that can be installed in the PS that allow the machine to play games that you recorded from a burner. When I went to Thai, they would install it for $20, has that made it to the US yet?

not sure since i don't have a PS2, but you might want to try www.cdrom-guide.com and try the video game backup ps2 board. i'm sure your question will be answered there
i have a dreamcast, which doesn't need a chip, and have bought all my games (backups of course) for about 3$ a piece. go to the buy/sell/trade forum for that.
btw there are sites that sell ps2/dreamcast chips for about 20$ a piece. www.modchip.com . i have no idea why you would buy a dreamcast chip since you don't need them. make sure that the chip serves a purpose before buying one.

Fuck yeah Human Shell! That has to be the best game on the system. I even like it better than NBA2k1 and NFL2k1. The play is so simple but it's awesome and never gets boring. Can't wait for Virtua Tennis II.
