Chinese food?

How good/bad is Chinese food for you when cutting? I'm addicted to Chinese buffets and go damn near every day when bulking, but don't know if it would be all that bad for cutting(assuming I don't pig out when I go). I usually eat bourbon chicken with combination rice and maybe some vegetable lo mein. Opinions?

I'd say it's probably pretty bad for cutting. They use a lot of oil and white rice isn't the best carb choice. I'm sure you could get some healthier choices if you looked around but I'm guessing you like specific dishes that may or not be the best for dieting. Problem is you can't reliably guess caloric intake eating this type of food because you never know how much oil they use, you don't know how fatty the meats are, etc... Also white rice is loaded with calories and of course they give you a shitload. Also you mentioned combination rice which I'm assuming is fried rice? If so that's even worse than white rice because of the extra fat and sodium. That's also another thing, soy sauce is so loaded with sodium it's not even funny and will cause massive water retention if eaten too much.

Save chinese food for your refeed days because your portions while dieting would be very small and you may not be able to hold back.

what you said is correct about most chinese places, but the one i go to has a grill bar with raw chicken and raw beef. they also have whole wheat pasta and tons of fresh vegetables packed in ice. you can watch them cook it right in front of you, so you know they don't add anything to it. these kind of foods make for a great cutting diet but i will not go near the buffet.

Hmm

If I was dieting I would avoid Buffet tables because all of that food is asking for a binge, but if you can exhibit self control then eat that chicken beef, and Fresh veggies, just watch the sauces. Alot of sugar in them.

If I'm cutting I try to avoid buffet. Sometimes you just don't know what they cooked the food in. But hell I love Chinese buffets to.

japanes, correan or thaî food is a better (less fat) choice

Dude, General Tsoa's chicken is THE BOMB. Even while dieting, I have to have that shit at least once/week to live.

In general Chinese food with no MSG is not that bad it is the starchy high GI/GR rice used which is detrimental. some of the sauces are sugary but when eaten with protein and low GI/GR veggies and no rice the meal can be glycemically acceptable.
