Chicago Dilemma

So...Crobar Chicago is closed for remodeling. Damn! This was just about THE only legitimate club in all of Chicago. All other clubs are more or less glorified bars and cater to a rather pedestrian crown.

Sorry, I just needed to vent.

I guess I will check out BuzzLife's first promotional event at Zentra on Saturday. We'll see how that one goes.

Cuts, and Chicago folks...

What clubs have you been frequenting these days? Like I said, I tend to make it to Vision a lot, and Zentra is actually hoppin' now that BuzzLife has taken over teh first Saturday of the month.

I haven't really been frequenting anywhere lately, but this past summer I went to Zentra many times... it was o.k. bro but a lot of ghetto music and ghetto chicks if you know what I mean. I take it you're saying it's gotten better recently? Upstairs I assume?

Went to Vision once over the summer and it was dead around midnight (granted maybe that was still early) so we took U-turns and went somewhere else.

You sound like you're in the know... where are spots in Chicago with phat trance/techno/house, hot horny willing women, and NO ghetto patrons? And Crazy Horse doesn't count

Thanks

Vision has been pulling in a lot of big names recently--Nick Warren, The Crystal Method, etc.

Transit has Paul Van Dyk and Hybrid doing sets on Feb. 19 and 20 respectively. Nice, clean venue.

Zentra was and should be good the first Saturday of the month with the BuzzLife promotions.

Crobar Chicago (once it reopens) will be as good if not better than ever--still the closest thing to a Miami club Chicago has to offer.

Berlin on Belmont is hit or miss, but when it hits, it HITS.

...just to name a few.

Also...a place called Super Lounge opens over Valentine's weekend. I will be there to check it out on saturday. PM me if you are interested in going.

I marked my calendar for Van Dyk at Transit. That'll definitely be phat.

You didn't mention your take on the chick factor at the aforementioned places...?

If you got the time and want to hear some good techno check out Mistress Barbara.. Zentra Saturday the 15th

Funny I was actually going to check it out. Go to their website and sign up for discounted admission--$10.

As far as the chick factor...it depends what you are looking for. Chicago is really a bar kind of town--drinkers. Lots of drunk girls, and far too many older chicks...no matter where you roam. Again, this is a drinking town.

I myself have never gone home with a fucked-up chick...not from a club, not from anywhere, hell, not even when working clubs. But they are out there.

Anybody check out Van Dyk at Transit this past Wednesday? Man I wanted to GO... damn weekday responsiblities!

Couldn't justify the cost of PVD--too bad too. I did, however, make it to Transit for Hybrid last night. It was a smallish crowd, but the set was AMAZING! I am feeling it a bit today--go figure.
