What do you guys think about a chat room on elite?

i was just thinking about this very question. i was on some other site and they have a chat room. i thought about elite. nobody was talking about A/S. just everyday kind of things.

That does sound good cos I'm sure everybody wants to talk about other things apart from AS all the time yet if you do go to the chat board it is not the same as chattin' with the bro's on this board cos I've tried and I didn't like it, but there is only so much you can get away with on this board without someone suggesting that your thread be moved to the chat board......... it would be good if a trial period could be arranged!!!

No we don't need a chat room here. Most guys have IRC, MSN, yahoo etc...messenger services to chat in real time. I'm [email protected] or [email protected] if anyone would like to chat sometime although I use neither of those addies.
www.getbig.com has a realtime chatroom if you want to try it. BUt like someone here said, any info said there is lost very quickly.

Although I am amazed at the number of people who use chat rooms and chat boards to just BS, ...
I am up for anything that will help keep THIS board on-topic, and lessen the number of ridiculous posts about "E", about "what clubs are cool", about "which DJ is the coolest", about "my girl just F'd mne over"..... this IS an AS board after all.
Anything which helps us stays on-topic and keeps off-topic crap off the board - I am up for!

One of the inate problems with a chat room (as opposed to a board), is the inability to control comments or source posting.
It would also mean the mods would have to be online and more proactive.
I think it would be great, but would also let a lot of scammers a greater chance to scam.

Good God no, please Lord no.
A chat board would fuck this whole thing up.
Can you imagine logging in as a newbie and having other newbies give you cycle advise with no other intelligent comments.
There would be morons on it 24/7.
It would be counter productive.
Its a terrible idea.
I would like to chat real time to a few guys on here sure but I can email them and meet them in ICQ or IRC or on any number of public chatrooms.

Also you can have bots that will automatically kick people who flood the chatroom etc..
I think it will go over well, if the guys at elite want to do this, let me know cause I know how to get this done.
