For anyone on here thinking about trying a Chaste Tree (Vitex agnus-castus Extract) product for Estrogen control, think again. A while back, I e-mailed the head herbalist at the largest herb producing companies in the US and this what she came back with:
Chaste Tree is not a good choice for men because it can decrease
testosterone. Especially if you want to increase testosterone. It would be
best to see a physician who can montitor your hormone levels. Saliva testing
can be quite accurate. The correct form of DHEA, keto-DHEA, may be helpful.
I would also suggest Ginseng, and # # Male Complex formula.
Thank you,
# # PhD RN
Names removed for obvious reasons. I e-mailed her with the question because I actually tried this stuff and coincidentally had a blood test shortly after being on it for a while. Believe me when I tell you my hormones were fucked up and I have nothing to blame other than that stuff. I was confused because it was being hyped as an E blocker so I asked the question. Just FYI, for what it's worth.
